MASON CITY, Iowa – Guitarist Don Felder and the rock band Sugar Ray will highlight the entertainment when RAGBRAI rolls into Mason City.

That was announced Wednesday, along with Lake Mills comedian Day Peace serving as MC on July 27 when thousands of bicycle riders will be stopping for the night in River City.  Some 15,000 visitors are expected and city officials say that could mean $3 million for the Mason City economy.

500 to 750 volunteers will be needed to help with camping, hospitality, and cleanup positions.

Mason City Mayor Bill Schickel also took advantage of the opportunity to announce that Southbridge Mall in the downtown area will now be known as Main Street Experience.
