The Stelvio is one of the two Alfa Romeo cars that are on sale in the US. Despite still flaunting a four-year-old design and platform, it happens to be one of the sexiest-looking SUVs in the compact luxury segment. Alfa Romeo has gone ahead and given the international-spec version of the Stelvio a mid-cycle upgrade.
Unlike the US-Spec 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, this international-spec model gets a new headlamp assembly that we are already accustomed to. Adding more freshness to the exterior visual aspect, the Stelvio gets a unique new Competizione model.
The interior has not been left unattended, as the updated Stelvio comes with first-in-class technology features with the use of NFT technology. The dash also flaunts a bigger instrument cluster with a refreshing new interface.
The midlife-updated 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio is not destined for the US yet but will launch across the pond early next year. If and when the new-faced Stelvio comes to the US, it will continue to lock horns with the likes of the Porsche Macan, Genesis GV70, BMW X3, and the Volvo XC60.
The international-spec 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio gets a desirable makeover with Tonale-inspired LED headlamps, clever NFT-infused technology, and a cool new Competizione model.
Updated 2023 Stelvio Design Gets Inspired By The Alfa Romeo Tonale
Alfa Romeo has decided to highlight a distinctive exterior design element across its lineup. And that is why the midlife-updated Stelvio comes with cool new LED headlamps that are derived from that of the Tonale SUV. It comes in a three-pot design flanked with angry-looking DRLs.
Apart from the added visual drama, the new headlamps are also packed with cool technology features. It comes with “Adaptive Front Lighting Technology” that actively changes the lighting projectile based on the driving conditions.
Next up, is the “Glare-Free High Beam Segmented Technology” that helps with not blinding oncoming vehicles. The new Stelvio headlamps also come with “Welcome and Goodbye” feature which turns on the headlights when the driver enters or exits the vehicle.
Other exterior tweaks include a refreshed front grille and front intake surrounds. The rear fascia gets a subtle upgrade in the form of smoked LED tail lamps.
The New 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Interior Has A “Big Screen” Cockpit
The international-spec 2023 Stelvio also gets a notable interior upgrade in the form of a bigger all-new 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster. It elevates the cockpit experience into the modern era. Adding more drama to it are three new themes – Evolved, Relax, and Heritage.
The “Evolved” theme has a futuristic and sporty layout. The “Relax” theme has a calming approach with a minimal layout. And the “Heritage” theme has a nostalgic approach with visual cues inspired by the Alfa Romeos of the 60s and 70s. Apart from these, other subtle updates are confined to the upholstery options.
New Alfa Romeo Stelvio Gets More Secure With NFT Technology
Another feature that has trickled down from the Alfa Romeo Tonale is the NFT-infused technology feature. Seen for the first time in an automobile in the Tonale, this feature uses the tamper-proof perks of NFT to store various vital and confidential information of the car or the owner on an encrypted digital register.
This provides elevated confidence and assurance and will also make scenarios like used car buying, a lot simpler. Another cool technological feature in the Stelvio is the Human Machine Interface (HMI). This helps the car utilize AI to learn about the occupant’s usage of various in-car functions and streamline things further.
Adding more technological indulgence for the 2023 Stelvio is “Alfa Connect Services”. This provides for a more interconnected approach like controlling the headlamps and air-con controls via a smartphone. Also with OTA updates, technological problems can be addressed with ease.
Mid-Cycle Updated 2023 Stelvio Trims Gets Simpler
The US-Spec 2023 Stelvio is unchanged from last year and continues to come in five trim levels. But the international-spec Stelvio has been trimmed down to just two trims – Sprint and Veloce. We are sure that Alfa Romeo will be adding a revised set of performance and visual enhancement packages to make up for the dearth of trim levels.
New 2023 Stelvio Is More Special With A Competizione Model
For the world to truly take notice of the updated Stelvio, Alfa Romeo has added a new special Competizione model. It is an aesthetically enhances model that is based on the sportier Veloce trim level.
The exterior is painted in a cool shade of matte Moon Light Gray which is contrasted with black wheels and red brake calipers. This model also gets “Competizione” badges on the fenders to flaunt its uniqueness.
The interior also gets subtle unique touches like “Competizione” headrest badges, black leather-wrapped dashboard and seats with contrasting red stitching, and a premium Harman-Kardon audio system.
New 2023 Stelvio Engine And Performance Remain Unchanged
There are no tweaks on the performance front of the new Stelvio. The international-spec model continues to be offered with either a 280-hp gasoline engine or a 210-hp diesel motor. If and when the midlife-updated Stelvio launched in the US, it will continue to pack the athletic 280-hp four-cylinder engine that is also shared with the Giulia sedan. Power is sent to either the rear or all wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
When Will The New Updated 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Come To The US?
Alfa Romeo is currently silent on details regarding the launch of this refreshed Stelvio in the US. Also, the 2023 Stelvio is already on sale here and is mostly uncharged from last-year’s model. So, our best bet is that Alfa Romeo would launch it as a silent mid-year upgrade by mid-2023. But for now, people across the pond will be able to buy the 2023 Stelvio with gorgeous new eyes from February 2023.
