Empty Bowls holiday dinner, entertainment fundraiser for FISH returns Friday at Carson Mall | Carson City Nevada News

Event Date:

December 2, 2022 – 4:00pm

The annual Empty Bowls fundraising event will be returning this Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. inside the Carson Mall in Carson City.

Empty Bowls is an annual fundraising event that provides funding to Carson City FISH to help those less fortunate throughout the winter months, all while providing a hot meal, live entertainment and a handmade decorated bowl to attendees.

Local artisans start crafting the homemade bowls beginning in June leading up to this annual fundraiser.

Ogres-Holm Pottery hosts the bowl-making nights throughout the year, which are free to attend.

The cost to attend is $15, which includes the handcrafted bowl and dinner, with all proceeds going toward the FISH Food Bank and Family Dining Room.

Empty Bowls also provides live entertainment and holiday music with local school bands from Carson Middle School, Eagle Valley Middle School and Carson High School.

The project began nearly a decade ago, and the decorative bowls that attendees receive are meant to symbolize, and be a reminder of, the fact that there are many in our community who experience empty bowls daily.
